We will also be taking part in Forest Schools this term. A letter will be sent home with your child for more information. Please let us know us know if you have any questions regarding forest schools.

Topic 2 - Magic

Our topic this half term is called 'Magic.' We will be looking at science investigations, fairytales and fiction texts and learning about how we are magic.

We will be having a special visitor ‘Mr Magician’ who will show and teach the pupils magic tricks.

Topic 3 – Let’s Grow

Our third topic this year is called 'Let’s Grow' and we will be focusing on plants and animals. We will start this topic by a trip to Walnut Tree Farm.

We will be learning about animals and their life cycles, what animals eat and what they can produce.  We will also be looking at how our food grows and hopefully growing our own.

We will also be celebrating St David’s day, Chinese New Year and St Dwynwen’s day as part of this topic.

Reading in Year 1

Reading at home is very important. Reading for just 10 minutes a day can make a BIG difference. Each week we will be sending reading books home for you to read with your child. Please comment on your child's reading ability in the yellow book before sending the books back to school to be changed. We ask for reading books to be brought in on a Wednesday and will be sent home on a Friday.

Accessing Google Classroom from Home

To access Google classroom pupils can download a FREE app via the App store on an ipad or iphone and via the Google Play Store on Android devices. Pupils then need to sign in using the username and password

provided to them by the class teacher.

To access google classroom on a laptop or PC pupils need to go to classroom.google.com and sign in with their HWB details.

Forgotten your HWB details?  No problem, notify your class teacher and they can help you out.
