Hello! We are Ella, Harvey and Jayden O and we share responsibility with the rest of the class in updating our class homepage. We will upload pictures of our great work and keep you informed on what’s happening in our busy classroom! We have had a busy yet exciting year in 5/6 GM so far! Next term we have lots more learning and exploring to come.
SFA (Success For All)
Our literacy sessions include working collaboratively in order to achieve ‘Success for All!’ This includes working with partners and small groups, allowing us to extend our reading, writing and oracy skills. We have already written a range of genres, including report writing, persuasive writing and explanations. We make it more fun by using co-operative learning points. We will continue extending these skills this term.
Maths
We are studying weight and measure in maths this term. We will be using a range of measuring equipment to estimate and measure using a range of scales. wwe have also being using formulas in maths - we loved working out the missing letter!
We will be continuing our ‘Big Maths’ CLIC sessions every day in order to extend our number skills and we continue to try to beat our ‘Big Maths Beat That’ test score every week! We are making great progress with this!
Wider Curriculum
Our Cornerstones topic this term is Summer Camp. It has a geography focus which pays particular attention to Wales!
With the end of the school year nearly upon us, our SEAL topic is 'Changes' this term. Year 6 face big changes in going to High School in September and Year 5 will become the role models of the school! This topic will help us to deal with these changes and embrace them!
This term we are lucky to have Cardiff City coach us in order to extend our hockey skills. We look forward to our PE sessions and remember to bring our PE kit in every Monday in order to take part in these sessions (t shirt, shorts/trousers and suitable footwear for PE on tarmac).
